Glenoma is a small unincorporated community in Lewis County, Washington, United States. It derives its name (meaning “fruitful valley”) from the words “glen” and “ome” (Hebrew for a “measure of grain”). A rural community that is centrally located between Morton and Randle. Close to all outdoor recreational activities like fishing, hiking, and sightseeing.
Outdoor Activities: Taidenapam Park is a hidden gem of a campground with full hookups available and close to Mt. Rainier and Mount St. Helens. A great base camp for recreational fun!
Are you looking for a game of golf? Check out the Ironwood Green Golf course. A 9-hole course. You pay just by the “honor,” system.
The spectacular waterfall is located about a mile and half in from the Goat Creek Trailhead. A good idea to wear waterproof boots for streams and creek water crossings.
Check out this video of the Goat Creek Trail.
Things to See and Do: Touch a part of history by visiting the Glenoma Elementary Monument that is in front of the Glenoma Fire station. It is the original school entrance that is standing with its arches and symmetrical columns. Upon entry will see the wall of school history including the exterior photo of the arch entry that now stands as the monument. All the Glenoma schoolteachers are listed there with the years that they taught at the school. This could not have been possible without the community support and donor’s contribution listed there as well.
Schools: Glenoma Elementary was built in 1932, was closed in 2003 and subsequently demolished in 2011. Depending on the location of the residence, children living in the Glenoma community attend schools in the White Pass School District or the Morton School District.
Shopping: Glenoma is minutes away from many local businesses that serve this area.
Faith Community: Local churches provide services.
